“I Did Something Bad” explores Swift’s new darker trap sound in the reputation era as it drifts away from her previous record, 1989. Like 2014’s “Blank Space,” “I Did Something Bad” plays on the media and public’s perception of Taylor, with her singing as the character they portray her as.
